BIOGRAPHY
Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), she first studied music education at the conservatory of Buenos Aires. She began her vocal coaching in Jazz and South-American folk music,after that she continued her studies within the classical genres opera, oratorio and chamber music under the supervision of Professor Marta Blanco. Furthermore she practiced music theory and composition with professors Maria del Carmen and Jose Luis Larzabal, both experienced coaches. Guadalupe Larzabal was member of several ensembles and choirs in jazz and South-American folk music and performed in numerous concerts in Buenos Aires. In classical music, oratorio and chamber music she performed as a soloist in the Scalade San Telmo, in the Teatro Avenida and on several other Concert Halls in Buenos Aires.
Guadalupe Larzabal made her debut as an opera singer in 2001 in "Les mamelles of Tiresias” from Francis Poulenc. This was followed by Mercedes in "Carmen"(Bizet) and Bervoix Flora in "La Traviata" (Verdi), Gertrude in ”Romeo ed Juliette" from Gounod and Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia" from Rossini. Erda in Wagner's "Rheingold ", the Third Lady in “Zauberflöte” and Farnace in "Mitridate Re di Ponto" are also important parts of her repertoire.
In 2003 she settles down in Germany where she has her actual residence. She deepened her musical knowledge e and took vocal coaching and repertoire studies with Professor Alastair Thompson in Cologne and Graciela Alperyn in Frankfurt. In 2011 she sings „La Cenerentola“ from Rossini in the role of Tisbe, „I due Foscari“ from Verdi in the role of Pisana and „La Fille du Regiment“ from Donizetti in the role of Marchese and with Jorge Cardoso she will perform in Spain and in France. In 2012 she performes as Olga in "Eugen Onegin" from Tchaikowski and as the old nun in Hindemith's "Sancta Susanna". She sings with Aris Argiris at the Heidelberg Schlossfestspiele for the Festival's closing Gala. In 2013 she sings the contralto soloist of the opera "Dionysos" from Wolfgang Rihm. She also makes her debut in Argentina as Azucena in "Il Trovatore" from Verdi.
