The Brazilian opera singer Kismara Pessatti studied acting and singing in her native country with Neyde Thomas, and at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Julia Varady and Norma Sharp. She studied further in the master classes of Thomas Hampson, Francisco Araiza, Reri Grist, Ruth Rohner and Alberto Zedda. She became a member of the Opernhaus Zürich ensemble after the Opera Studio in 2003.
Today, the alto singer is internationally active as an operatic and concert singer as, among others, Carmen with the Bergische Symphoniker, as Maddalena in Rigoletto in Saint Étienne, as Erda in the Ring des Nibelungen in the Aalto Theater in Essen, as well as a soloist in the 2nd and 8th Symphonies by Mahler, Hartmann's 1st Symphony, El Amor Brujo by Falla, The Messiah by Handel, Bach's St. John Passion and H-moll Messe, Elias by Mendelssohn, Honegger's Joan of Arc, and Mozart's and Verdi's Requiem. Kismara Pessatti has performed in various countries such as Germany, Japan, England, France, Venezuela, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Netherlands, Colombia and Brazil.
