BIOGRAPHY
Resident of Portugal, born in Russia in 1977, Olesya won the First Prize in the Fifth Edition International Competition of Young Singers in Dobrich-Albena, Bulgaria and in 2010 she became the diplomant of the International vocal competition in Italy (Alcamo, Sicily) and Bilbao International vocal competition (Bilbao, Spain).
She studied with the internationally renowned singer from the Mariinsky theatre Mr. Sergei Aleksashkin and graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2003. In 2003 Olesya made her debut with Neue Oper Wien in Vienna, Austria, where she participated in the production of the Orpheus by Chech- Monteverdi.
Her other major roles included: Nerea in opera Hybris by Adriana Hoelzsky (Theatre Nacional de Sao Carlos, Lisbon, Portugal), Filipievna and Olga in opera Eugene Onegin, Marta in Iolanta, Polina and Countess of Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame, Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera and Requem Verdi, Schumman`s Faust scenes, Prokofiev cantata Alexander Nevsky, Rachmaninov Vesper, Borodin Konchakovna from Prince Igor.
Olesya’s last performances were Hybris by A. Hoelzsky at Theater Nacional de Sao Carlos, Lisbon in March-April 2010 and Schumman’s Faust scenes also at Theater Nacional de Sao Carlos, Lisbon in June 2010.
From 2010 Olesya has been collaborating with the Opera Company of the North (Oporto, Portugal) and performing in a number of recitals across Portugal.
In her free time, Olesya is working as a vocal teacher in various music school in Portugal.
