Contralto Profondo Arabella Fields was known as 'The Black Nightingale'. She was native from Philadelphia, PA, but from the 1890s to the 1920s she toured throughout Europe and became one of the most prolific African American entertainers outside the USA. In 1907 she made a couple of recordings for Anker.
