 Meredith Arwady, Contralto | Dramatic Contralto Meredith Arwady is to take on the role of Martha in ENO's production of John Adams' opera The Gospel According to the Other Mary. Arwady, who recently performed the role of Mrs. Quickly in Oper Frankfurt's sensational production of Falstaff with veteran performer Ambrogio Maestri, has a distinctive Dramatic Contralto voice. Her dark, powerful timbre is instantly recognisable. It will be nice to see more of Arwady in the UK in the future, particularly in the Dramatic Contralto rep (Erda, Quickly, Gaea etc.).
