Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, Contralto Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, who in Feburary took on the role of Gaea in Strauss' Daphne at Oper Frankfurt, will be performing as Die Hexe in Humperdinck's Die Königskinder at the same venue in July 2015.
Tanja made her debut at the Royal Opera House in 2013 as Clarion in the sold-out concert productions of Richard Strauss’ last opera, Capriccio, replacing British Mezzo-Soprano Christine Rice.
Mark Berry, of Opera Today, wrote the following about her performance:
"Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, whom I have had a few occasions to praise in performances outside this country, made a splendid Covent Garden debut as Clairon, rich of tone and both alluring and lively of presence."
Die Königskinder will run from 4/7/2015 - 17/7/2015.
